My most favorite activity when I visited my grandmother was to watch her make buttermilk biscuits before each meal. The nimbleness of her fingers as she gently mixed the flour, buttermilk and lard in her wooden bowl was amazing. The end result was a pile of fluffy biscuits with a crisp outer crust. Truly Heaven on earth!

In my attempt to replicate the process, I ended up with biscuits that resulted in a hard, hockey pucks that could keep the NHL amply supplied for generations. That being said, my father and I set out to create a mix that anyone could bake successfully... even me. Eureka! Inspired by Grandma, you can now enjoy the delicious buttermilk taste of fluffy biscuits finished with a crispy outer crust. Made with real butter and sweet cream buttermilk, all you need to do is just add water!

But wait! There is a secret to making these mouth-watering buttermilk drop biscuits... it's all in how you mix them. When you add the water, mix it just enough to moisten all the ingredients.

Enjoy these southern drop biscuits with your favorite jam, jelly, molasses or my favorite... butter and honey. YUM!

Our baking mixes are packaged in a retro-designed feed sack that can be used again and again - one of our efforts to Go Green for our environment.
